Bara Sapir’s academic, artistic and spiritual work is fueled by the dynamic interface between creative expression and spirituality. She believes that each provide in-roads into the other which deepen ones connection to self and the divine. She engages this philosophy through Creative Midwifery where she creates ritual, performance art, music and artistic methods that encourage participants to experience the personal and communal journey. Her work is driven by a passion to connect to sparks of life and to inspire others to do so as well.
She is adjunct professor at Montclair State University, is a published author and artist, an illustrator and graphic designer, and designs interactive exhibits for museums. She also shows her work in galleries, and teaches domestically and abroad. She is art editor for Zeek: A Jewish Journal of Thought and Culture. . Bara holds Masters degrees from Jewish Theological Seminary (Education) and the University of Michigan (ArtHistory) and Certification in Hypnotism.
